William Glyn Burtt Jr.

William Glyn Burtt Jr., 52, passed away in his Orange, Texas home on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021. 

He was born on Sept. 6, 1969 to William Glyn Burtt Sr., and Laura Hebert Burtt in Opelousas, La.

He grew up in Lake Charles where he attended LaGrange High School. He was Chief Engineer at Odyseea Marine. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as playing pool, having drinks, watching movies, pushing the limits of his stereo system, and driving incredibly fast cars very dangerously. His sense of humor, kindness, and genuine spirit left a massive impact on those who knew and loved him. He was a truly unique individual, and will be forever missed by those whose lives he impacted.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Laura Lyons; his sister, Dee Dee Lopez; his brothers, Carl Farris and Brian Farris; his nephews, Jacob Hoffpauir, Clint Farris, Russel Farris and Trent Farris; his aunts, Ann Martin, Janeve Cron, Patty McComb, Penny Boucher; his uncle, Brad Hebert, and his best friend, Jeff Davis.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Glyn Burtt Sr; his grandparents, Joseph and Aline Hebert; his nephew, C. J. Farris; and his cousin, Michael Martin.

His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021 in the University Baptist Church chapel. Pastor John Astling will officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the start of the service at 2 p.m.
