What do you do when the turkey’s all gone, but the holiday spirit – and visitors – are not? Pack ‘em up and head to Downtown Lake Charles on Saturday, Nov.27 for the Holiday Art Walk. Sleep in. It doesn’t start until noon, the most wonderful time of the year for shopping from local businesses and artists, enjoying holiday musical entertainment, refreshments, food and selecting gifts that are truly singular.

“Many of these artists don’t have storefronts,” said Devan Corbello, the Arts & Humanities Council executive director. “This event brings their beautiful artwork and craftsmanship to a centralized location for shoppers. It will feel like Downtown Lake Charles has been transformed into a holiday movie set with all of the happenings during the event.”

Carlyss Artist Daneisha Davis, Pixel and Ink Creative, will have posters, art prints and gift products. DeQuincy Artist Morgan Allain, The Inkling Girl, is a lover of folk and fairy tales and her paintings tend toward the whimsical, mythical and fantastical. (Her stickers will make great stocking stuffers.) All Forked Up makes unique jewelry out of recycled silverware. KKs Plants and Custom Hangers by Mia will excite plant lovers who have run out of floor space for plants. Blue Jeane carries funky bolo ties and cleverly designed earrings and necklaces. (The list goes on. For the latest update of who will be there, go to the Arts & Humanities Council’s Facebook Page.)
