Ida Pearl Manuel Fouts, age 75, of Vinton, Louisiana passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Pearl was born September 29, 1946 to her parents, John Baptist Manuel & Willa Vasseur Manuel in Lecompte, LA.

Pearl was a native of Eunice, LA and later resided in Vinton, LA. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector for many years. She was a member of the St. Joseph the Worker Court #1986 Catholic Daughters of America where she proudly served as Regent. She was an active member of the ACTS community. Pearl was a member of Orange Chapter 214 OES and served as Worthy Matron.

Pearl worked as a clerk for Inland Container where she later retired. She loved playing POKENO and BINGO with all of her friends. You could often find her in her yard planting and tending flowers. She took pride in making her yard beautiful and was proud of receiving Yard of the Month. Pearl enjoyed cooking for her family, cross stitching, traveling with her husband, as well as her church life. She loved decorating for all holidays and spending them with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 32 years, James W. Fouts; her two daughters, Melanie Fontenot Dupre (Danny) of Vinton, LA, Cindy Fontenot Perritt (Joel) of Longview, TX; her two step-sons, Mark Fouts of Orange, TX, John Fouts of Cross Plains, TX; step-daughter, Ruth Fouts of Orange, TX; grandchildren, Chad Maggio, Dustin Dupre (Falina), Kyle Dupre, Jacob Perritt, Jackson Perritt, Sarah Sonnier (Ryan), Merideth Menard (Steven); great-grandchildren, Emma, Ryder, Sophie, and Pressley; her God-children, Steve Manuel, Marhiya Leger and Lauren Anding; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Pearl is preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, John Baptist Manuel, Jr. & Selton Manuel; her sister, Patsy Leger; her son-in-law, Gregg Maggio; brothers-in-law, Mike Leger and David Fouts; great granddaughter, Cassie Lueke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Carlos Garcia officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. followed by an Eastern Star Memorial Service in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. Visitation will resume on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 9 a.m. until time of procession to the church. Interment will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, LA under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Joel Perritt, Jacob Perritt, Jackson Perritt, Danny Dupre, Chad Maggio, Dustin Dupre, and Kyle Dupre.
