Dwight “Big Dwight” Curtis LeDoux

Dwight “Big Dwight” Curtis LeDoux, born in Colorado Springs, CO on June 1, 1944, and raised in Sweetlake, son of the late Clyde Curtis LeDoux and Edmae Guillory, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at the age of 77.

Dwight was a graduate of Bell City High, He served in U. S. Army. He was a member of the NRA, VA and Louisiana Sheriff’s Association. He farmed in Sweetlake and Pine Pasture for numerous years. Dwight worked overseas in many countries for Penrod Drilling and retired from N E S Sprint Tank. He was a family man, outdoors man, cowboy farmer, mechanic, cook, storyteller and a jack of all trades. A one-of-a-kind son, brother, father and paw paw man. Everyone that met him remembered him. He truly loved life.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Saundra LeGros; Stephanie Cradeur, and grandson, Nicholas Hebert.

Dwight is survived by his children, Jacqueline “Jackie” LeDoux; Kasha Jeter (Keith LeJeune); Dwight C. LeDoux, II (Jennifer); Brandi Stoddard (Cody Armstrong); Ashley Bourque (Nic); Laddy “Reese” LeDoux (Shuman Li); siblings, Gregory LeDoux (Jim); Sheila Bailey; Suzanne McMillan (John); Jonathan LeDoux; Sophie Buxton (Robert); grandchildren, Logan H. Laviolette (Emmy); Cody Hebert; Seth LeDoux (Kaele); Gavin Jeter; Jerica LeDoux; Kade Jeter;  Byron Stoddard; Bryce Stoddard; Peyton LeDoux; Marybeth Bellard; Eli LeDoux; great-grandchildren, Beau; Lenox; Conner; Cash; Saylor; Sutton; Londyn; Wasey; Amalie, and Aubryn; 1st wife and life-long friend, Billie Jean Weeks. 

Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Roland Vaughn, officiant. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation begins Sunday in the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., and will resume Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
