Sue Hood, age 93, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Sue was born on March 28, 1928 in Roanoke, Alabama.

Sue was a longtime member of Olivet Baptist Church, and served as nursery coordinator and served in VBS. Sue loved the Lord and her church. In her younger years she worked in the Callaway Textile Mill. Her joy was her children and grandchildren and didn’t hesitate to show you their photos. Sue loved planning Moon family reunions, and she enjoyed making crafts. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, William J Hood, parents, Robert and Martha “Mattie” Moon; son William “Larry” Hood; and her eight siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Richard Hood and partner Chrissy of Orange, Texas; daughter, Suzette Wood and husband, Brian of Sulphur; daughter in law, Vicky Owen Hood (wife of Larry); grandchildren; Tarah Hood Dorman (Greg), Amy Hood Perez, Jeremy Hood (Heather), Sonia Hood Sumpter (Scott), Amanda Hood Keller (Justin), Jacob Hood (Jamie), Joshua Hood (Brittany), Brian “BJ” Wood Jr, Michael Wood (Sarah), Jake Dougan; great- grandchildren Elena Perez, Andrew Hood, Kara Hood, Alex Sumpter (Melissa), Bryce Sumpter, Hayden Sumpter, Rowen Keller, William Keller, Izzy Hood, Immy Hood, Tyler Hood, James Wood, Brayden Wood, Sophia Wood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Prien Cemetery in Lake Charles.
