Alvin Joseph Ogea

Alvin Joseph Ogea, 88, of Sulphur, LA passed away peacefully in a local care center.

Alvin was born on December 2, 1932, in Lake Charles, LA to Sanders and Grace Ogea. He enjoyed his time in the great outdoors over the years crabbing, duck hunting, and running track when he was in High School at LaGrange.  Alvin served his country in the United States Army and fought for our freedom in the Korean War.  After serving our country Alvin worked for Alcoa Aluminum and retired as a Lock and Dam Operator for the Corps of Engineers. He was a proud member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur, LA.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three living children, Craig Allen Ogea, Randal Keith Ogea and wife Julie, Rebecca “Becky” Ogea Janot; four grandchildren, Alvin Ricky Ogea II, Zac Ogea, Adam Ogea, Kayla Ogea Fontenot; great grandchildren, Ashlynn Ogea, Lochlan and Elliot Ogea, Alexis, Gage, Shawn II, and Wade Fontenot; and one daughter in law, Myrna Ogea.

Alvin is preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna Dean Guilbeaux Ogea; two sons, Chad Ogea and Alvin Ricky Ogea; and 10 siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur, LA. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, with a Rosary at 12:00PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur, LA on Thursday, October 21, 2021, under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA. Fr. Aubrey Guilbeau and Fr. Andrew DeRouen will officiate services.

Pallbearers include Shawn Fontenot, Darin Belaire, Mike Guilbeaux, Zac Ogea, Adam Ogea, and Hunter Keller.
