Joyce Mae Hayes, age 86, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 in her residence.
She was a native of Vinton where she graduated from Vinton High School and was a longtime resident of Sulphur. Joyce enjoyed going to the casino and taking care of her cats, and had previously enjoyed gardening, especially plants and flowers.
She is survived by her son, Ricky Hayes of Lafayette; her former son-in-law, Christopher H. Benoit of Vinton; nephew, Mikel Laughlin of Chicago, Illinois; and a niece, Michelle Laughlin Ishee of Vinton. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Ray Hayes; her daughter, Donna Sue Hayes Benoit; and her brother, Clifford Laughlin and wife, Judith Laughlin.
A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 14, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Jody Barrilleaux, Celebrant.
