Ida Landry Simon Ledet

Ida Landry Simon Ledet, 102, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021.

Mrs. Ledet was born March 29, 1919 in Mamou, LA, and was a longtime member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Lady’s Auxiliary.  She had a love for dancing, playing Bingo, mowing her lawn, fishing, and cooking, but her true passion was for her family and friends.

Mrs. Ledet is survived by her daughters, Alva Simon Batiste of Houston, TX and Elvina Simon Bland of Iowa, LA; daughter-in-law, Lillian Simon of Lake Charles; brother, Eli Landry of Tulsa, OK; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Simon, Jr.; parents, Joseph Linton and Octavia Fontenot Landry; sons, Paul Freeman Simon, John Gene Simon, Sr., and Tojane Simon; one brother; four sisters; and three grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Father Wayne LeBleu will officiate.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Her viewing will begin at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
