Wilbert Ardoin

JENNINGS –  It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that our husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Wilbert “Bert” Ardoin passed away peacefully at home with the love of family surrounding him on Oct. 7, 2021.   Bert was born in Basile, La. on May 4, 1944, to Adam Ardoin and Anna Belle Young.

Bert worked for John Deere for 45 years before retiring.  He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting for squirrel and duck, fishing, and gardening. He also loved to cook for his family and friends.  Bert was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bert is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra M. Latiola Ardoin of Jennings, La.; his two daughters, Amy Ardoin LeBlue (Danny Duplichan) of Jennings, La., Julie Ardoin Marceaux (Darrell) of Hathaway, La.; his four stepdaughters, Roxanne Davis (Craig) of Dallas, Texas, Stefanie Fontenot (Ronnie) of Hathaway, La., Stacie Latiola (Kurt Sunderhuse) of Dilley, Texas, Cheree Stanley (Scott) of Hathaway, La.; his three grandchildren, Chelsea LeBlue, Alyssa LeBlue, Madison Marceaux; his seven step-grandchildren, Lorenzo, Nathan, Brandon, Lauren, Carter, Morgan, Caroline; his four sisters, Helen Johnson of Katy, Texas, Glenn Bergeaux of Basile, La., Gladys Rose of Baton Rouge, La., Velma Guidry of Iota, La..

Bert was preceded in death by his parents, Adam  and Anna Belle Ardoin; his first wife, Sharon Adams Ardoin; his sister, Elsie Rose.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Wilbert “Bert” Ardoin will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings, La. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at 10 a.m. with Father Trey Angé officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  Those chosen to honor Bert as his pallbearers will be Darrell Marceaux, Carlton Marceaux, Danny Duplichan, Scott Stanley, Nathan Fontenot, & Brandon Fontenot.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, La. beginning on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 6 p.m. Monday evening.

Visitation will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, at 8 a.m. and continue until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.
