Vivian “Tibby” Miller

Vivian “Tibby” Miller, 93, passed away on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021 in a local hospital. Mrs. Miller was born on April 21, 1928 to Edras and Olita Stutes Thibodeaux in Creole, La.

She graduated from Morse High School, and started her working career as a nurse in Sulphur, La.

Tibby was a hard worker in everything she did. She was a stern, but loving woman of faith who cared for her family with steadfast dedication and commitment. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. Tibby also loved to have fun, dancing and playing bingo. Above all, she delighted in her grandchildren, loving them with all her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester Joseph Miller; and three brothers, Harold, Frank, and Charles Thibodeaux. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Glenn Miller (Lorena) and Keith Miller (Carolyn); her daughter, Janet Jones (Danny); her sisters, Bessie Guillory and Effie Velez; her sister-in-law, Helen Thibodeaux; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Tibby’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021 at University Baptist Church, located at 4505 Lake Street. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, Oct. 12, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 5p p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
