John Alfred Dupont, age 67, of Welsh, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021. John was born February 22, 1954 in Jennings, Louisiana to Owen Alfred and Shirley Mae Robinson Dupont.

John was a great brother and uncle. He was always proud of his nieces and nephews. He greatly enjoyed attending or hearing about their sports activities. He liked football and would cheer on the Saints and Eagles. He competed in the Special Olympics and proudly showed off his awards. John enjoyed helping others and was always ready to share a pot of coffee. He was an active member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors where he attended Church with his family. He was a member of the Nichols St. Group Home and found pleasure in his work with Preferred Living.

John is preceded in death by his parents and 1 nephew.

Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings Elbert (Brenda) Dupont of Nevada, Charles (Brenda) Dupont of Milton, Louisiana, David Dupont of Welsh, Louisiana, Jane (Tim) Donahoe of Roanoke, Louisiana, and Susan (Tony) Cappuccitti of New York along with three nieces, 6 nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1 at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh from the hours of 4-8pm with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday October 2 at 8am until proceeding to Our Lady of Seven Dolors for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery.
