Jennings:  It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that our son, husband, brother, and friend, Andrew Joseph Picard, Jr. passed away peacefully at home with the love of family and friends surrounding him on September 28, 2021.   Andrew was born in Franklin, LA on July 10, 1968, to Andrew Joseph Picard, Sr. and Patricia Champagne.  Andrew was self-employed and a great provider for his family.  He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting, camping, and spending every chance he got out on the water.  Andrew was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Andrew is survived by his mother, Patricia Champagne; his wife & best friend of 23 years, Pam Taggart Picard; his beloved fur babies, Missy, Roscoe, Honey, Benny, & Bella; his brother, Nolan Sittig (Adrienne); his sisters, Connie Businelle, Christine Pitre, Karen Ashworth (Shane), Stephanie Knowlton, Alicia Jefferson; his sister-in-law, Teresa Lilly; his stepmother, Caldonia Picard; as well as a host of nieces, nephews & friends.

Andrew was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Joseph Picard, Sr.; his grandmother, Ruth Richard; his mother & father-in-law, Karen &Stephen Taggart; his sister-in-law, Lisa Lohmeyer.

A Celebration of Andrew ‘s life will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 11:00 AM with Brother Garry Mann officiating.  Burial will follow in Sweetlake/Grand Lake Community Cemetery.  Those chosen to honor Andrew as his pallbearers will be Gary Davis, Tobias Businelle, Nolan Sittig, Joshua Lilly, Travis Lohmeyer, and B.J. Moerbe.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kerney Istre, Randy Lohmeyer, Kenneth Lilly, Floyd Sistrunk, Pat Gaspard, and Robert Lege.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA beginning on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 9:00 AM and continue until the time of his Service at 11:00 AM.

The family would like to thank Dr. Scott Bergeaux, Dr. Phillipe Prouet, Ochsner Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital, Ochsner Cancer Center of Acadiana and Lamm Family Care Hospice.  A special thank you to his hospice nurse Krystal and personal care attendant Sonya for their outstanding care and compassion.
