Kevin James ‘Punkin’ Smith, Sr., 69, departed this earthly life on Friday, September 3, 2021.

Kevin was born in Lake Charles, LA, September 28, 1951 to Leona Evelyna LeBlanc and James Smith.

A Marine Private, Kevin served in Vietnam and was Honorably discharged as a wounded veteran and spent most of his life as a resident of Houston, Texas.  He will forever be remembered for his perseverance, quick wit and sense of humor.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, James Smith, and Rodney and Leona E.  Jones, his siblings; James C. Williams, Michael Jones, Sr. and Stephanie ‘Sally Ann’ Thomas.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one son Kevin Smith, Jr., one daughter Alicia Antoinette Washington, three grandchildren; his siblings: Jennifer Lash of Sandusky, OH, Wardell Guilbeaux of Loganville, GA, Frances Charles, Linda Miller, Geraldine ‘Gerri’ Thomas, and Rodney G. Jones, Sr., all of Lake Charles, LA and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A private family celebration of life will be held.
