A Sulphur High School student was arrested Thursday after telling a classmate the day before to not go to school the next day because he was bringing an “item” to the campus.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kayla Vincent said deputies were notified Wednesday afternoon of the possible threat made by the 15-year-old.

“When questioned on what the ‘item’ was detectives were advised the boy made a gun signal with his hands,” Vincent said.  “Detectives located the boy at his residence and after speaking with him he was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with terrorizing.”
