Helen Jane LeBlanc Moreau

Helen Jane LeBlanc Moreau, 92, of Iowa passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 in her residence.

Mrs. Moreau was born on February 12, 1929 in Lacassine where she graduated from Lacassine High School as Valedictorian.  She moved to Iowa in 1952 and became the town clerk for the city of Iowa for 20 years.  Mrs. Moreau was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa where she sang in the choir and belonged to the Catholic Daughters.  She also attended St. Ann Catholic Church in Lacassine where she also sang in the choir.

She enjoyed playing cards with friends and relatives and took pleasure in baking.

Those left to cherish her memory are children, Glen Moreau (Sophy) of Pearland, TX and Pam Moreau Duhon (Kenneth) of Lake Charles; a brother, Billy Ray LeBlanc (Jenny) of Jennings; grandchildren, Joslyn Moreau Carter (Jesse), Chad Moreau (Shannon), Amy Duhon Castro (Darin), Melissa Duhon Wagstaff (Rusty), and Michelle Duhon; great grandchildren, Hannah, Jeanine, Patty, Patrick, Isaac, Allen, Brady, and Patricia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Henry Moreau and siblings, Margie Verret, Carol LeBlanc, Betty Roberts, Lois Belaire, Benny LeBlanc, and Little Jimmy LeBlanc.

A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lacassine.  Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin on Saturday at University Baptist Church from 9:30 AM until leaving for the catholic church at 11:30 AM.
