Rodney “Pop” James Soileau

Rodney “Pop” James Soileau, 67, of Highlands, Texas, passed away Monday, Sept. 13, 2021 at his home. He was born Oct. 10, 1953, in Gillis, La. to parents Oda Soileau and Edith “Eda” Gautreaux Soileau who preceded him in death along with his siblings Oda Jr., J.D., Raymond, Anthony, Blonde, Mary LeBlue, Freddie LaDeaux, John, and Joseph.

Rodney is survived by his children Rodney Soileau Jr. and wife Karri, Anna Marie Reeves and husband Charles, Tessei Reynolds and husband Brandon, Chadd Case and wife Kristina, and Garrett Soileau; grandchildren, Cole Stahl, Zoey Soileau, Eda Soileau, Ashton Gibbs, Wyatt Reynolds, Kaitlyn Case, Dylan Case, and Jayden Case; siblings, Wanda Babb, Leona Peterman, Michael Soileau, Wilton Soileau, Jane Rozas, Audrey LeBlanc, and Geneva Adams; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   

Rodney was a proud father and grandfather and loved to brag about his family. He loved his children unconditionally and raised them to have strong work ethics like he did. Rodney loved to cook and feed everyone. He attended Crosby Church and would often participate in the cook-off at the church activities. He was an open and honest man who didn’t meet a stranger. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
