Christian Youth Theater returns this season with three new shows. “The last show we had was in January 2020…It was a very hard for the kids to have the season cut short so we’re excited to be back on stage,” Cherie Benoit, managing director, said.

“The Adam’s Family: Young at Part” opens the season October 15-17 at Mcneese’s Tritico Theatre. A take on the classic television show, the show follows an all grown up Wednesday Adam’s when she brings home her “normal” boyfriend, Benoit said.

“But everything’s going to change on the night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.”

“The Adam’s Family: Young at Part” is the perfect treat for Halloween, Benoit said with it’s spooky but fun design. “It’s good for an audience four and up,”she said.

“It’s very family oriented.”

The CYT season continues this winter with “James and the Giant Peach Jr.” coming to stage in January. Set to an upbeat musical score, this Roald Dahl classic is sure to be a crowd pleaser, Benoit said.

The season will conclude in May with “Into the Woods Jr.” Taking a new spin on familiar fairytales, Benoit said they are expecting big things for the season closer.

“We knew everyone would be pretty excited about this show and we can also incorporate all of the age groups easily in it,” she said.

All of CYT’s performances this season will be musicals all geared towards audience members of all ages. All  “The Adam’s Family: Young at Part” will be at the McNeese State University’s Tritico Theatre, Friday, October 15 at 7 p.m, Saturday, October 16 at 2 p.m.  and 7 p.m. and Sunday, October 17 at 3 p.m.
