On Sept. 13, 2021, Arthurine Mary Hebert passed away peacefully from this life into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, Elie and Lydia Hebert; her sister, Wilda Sanders; and her brothers, Ivy “Shingy” Hebert, Milton “Bock” Hebert, and Elie Hebert.

Our mother was born on May 8,1930, in Gueydan, La. to Elie and Lydia Hebert. She married the love of her life, Bernice Lee (BL) Hebert, on July 19, 1947, at the sweet age of 17 and was married for 74 wonderful years. (This is not a misprint. Hebert married Hebert!)

Her life was lived through faith for her love of God and her family. Our mother was the strongest woman we have ever met and wasn’t afraid of anyone or anything. She was a fierce “Mama Bear” to her 5 children, Allen Paul Hebert (Marie), Lucinda Bernadette Hebert O’Quinn (Robby), Theresa Gail Hebert Parrie (Poppa), Angela Marie Hebert Camp (Bobby), and Burnis Joseph (BJ) Hebert (Robin).

Mom was so proud of her 9 grandchildren, Dawn Bryant Constance, Jonathon Hebert, Nathaniel Bryant (Alicia), Jeremy Rozas (Jessica), Michael Hebert (Amanda), Kaitlyn Chaisson (Brock), Emily Hebert, Evan Hebert, and Dillon Hebert, and especially proud of her 5 great-grandsons, Aidan Chaisson, Gabriel Constance, Andrew Chaisson, Cade Rozas, and Maverick Bryant.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a tax-deductible donation to help fight Alzheimer’s in mom’s [Arthurine] name at https://act.alz.org/donate

Special thanks to Penny Navarre Bellow for her compassion, tenderness, and kindness in caring for our mother.

Thanks to Amedisys Hospice, Donna Domengeaux, and CNA Julie Jones for their dedication in caring for our mother.

Private funeral services for family and close friends will be Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home, with burial in Gueydan.
