Sharon “Sue” Landry Trahan

VINTON – Sharon “Sue” Landry Trahan, 59, passed away on Sept. 15, 2021 with her husband and sister by her side. She was born on Oct. 9, 1961 to Ponk and Mona Rae Landry in Sulphur, La.

Sharon was a native and lifelong resident of Vinton. She was a 1979 graduate of Vinton High School. Sharon was a member of the Vinton Methodist Church. Her faith and courage was an inspiration to all that knew her. Her smile would light up the room when she walked in. Sharon enjoyed, shopping, yardwork, and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband (the love of her life for over 25 years), David Alexander Jr. and his children, Dakota and Dylan Alexander of Vinton; one step granddaughter; her father, Eldrige “Ponk” Landry of Carlyss; her sister, Kay Landry of Carlyss; mother-in-law, Susan Henry; father-in-law, David Alexander Sr. and wife Margaret; sister-in-law, Shelly Alexander; nephews, Aaron Courville and Max Adams; and a host of loving extended family members and friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her mother, Mona Rae Trahan Landry; numerous uncles, aunts, and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021 at 10 a.m. in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Sheri Zehner will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021 in the funeral home and will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 21 from 8-10 a.m. Private Interment will be in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
