Timothy  Patrick Gaynor Sr.

SULPHUR – Timothy Patrick Gaynor Sr., 77, passed away on Sept. 13, 2021. He was born on Jan. 24, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minn., to his late parents, William Owen Gaynor and Martha Flippin.

Tim was raised in Chicago, Ill., and relocated to Sulphur, La., when he met the love of his life, Frankie Landry, in 1963. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he served in the Vietnam War as a Medic. Upon returning from the war he moved to Killeen, Texas, where he completed his military service and worked as a firefighter. Tim had a career in the oilfield which took his family around the world and back to Louisiana where he retired in 2004. He enjoyed listening to all types of music, spending time with Maggie and Mister, drinking coffee with his family, and tending to his yardwork. Tim was a compassionate caretaker that made an impact on the lives he touched and will be missed immensely.

Tim is survived by his three children, Tim Gaynor Jr. of Sulphur; Mikey (Desiree) Gaynor of Lake Charles; Diane Gaynor (James) Himel of Prairieville, La.; three grandchildren, Samantha Gaynor, Will Gaynor, Erin Himel; a host of extended family and friends in Louisiana; and his fur babies, Maggie and Mister.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances “Frankie” Landry Gaynor; his parents; his mother-in-law, Zelma “Bean” Landry; his father-in-law, Polie Landry; close family friend, “Uncle” Earl Rodrigue.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, in the funeral home.  Cremation will follow at a later date and private inurnment will be in Mimosa Pines South in Carlyss.
