Shirley Ann Rideau Prude, 73, departed this life on Thursday, September 9, 2021, in Lake Charles, LA.  She was born December 3, 1947, to Leonard Rideau and Veda Segura Rideau in Lake Charles, LA.  She worked at Calcasieu Parish School Board as a teacher’s aide until her retirement.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Edward Hudson, Jr., and Tracy (Marissa) Hudson both of Lake Charles, LA; one brother, Landry (Charlotte) Washington, Sr., of Lake Charles, LA; two half-sisters, Wilda Orebo of Eunice, LA and Joanne (Cleveland) Broussard of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Johntrel Lewis, Terry Hudson and Kristina Hudson; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Veda Rideau; her husband, David Prude, Sr. and one half-sister, Viola Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., at King’s Funeral Home and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King’s Funeral Home.
