Robert Willis (Bobby) Henagan

Robert Willis (Bobby) Henagan was born in DeQuincy on August 4, 1931 and passed away September 13, 2021 at the age of 90.  He was a charter member and deacon of Eastern Heights Baptist Church that was established in 1949. He served as Minister of Music there for many years.  Later in life he became a faithful member and deacon of the church in which he came to know Jesus as his Saviour as a young boy, First Baptist Church. He was a member of De Quincy Masonic Lodge 279 F&AM where he served for over 50 years. He retired from the Missouri Pacific Railroad and went to work with his brother-in-law Willard Treme and retired at the age of 65. Bobby loved his family, raising his 2 sons to love sports and to love Jesus.  He coached his sons in little league baseball and later followed his grandchildren in the sports they participated in. He loved gardening and working in his yard.  He loved his wife “Trouble” dearly and they recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.  He was a wonderful husband, father, PawPaw and Great Grandpa and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Nettie Lee “Trouble” Marcantel Henagan, two sons, Darrell Henagan and wife Debbie and Jimmy Henagan and wife Jeri Lynn; 7 grandchildren, Kashia Spears and husband Kevin, Brandon Henagan and wife Courtney, Christin Dowers and husband Jake, Ryan Guillot and husband Jonathan, Jon Henagan, Haley Bush and husband Kris, Alyx Henagan; 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Henagan and Bessie Soileau Henagan and his sister, Louise Treme.

Family will receive friends 5 -8:00 p.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 and 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m.  The visitation and funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, 201 S Pine Street, DeQuincy, La. Pastor Gil Arthur and Rev. Brad Johnson will officiate.  Interment to follow at Masonic Cemetery, DeQuincy, Louisiana
