He attended Vidrine High School, Class of 1972 then went onto attend McNeese State University where he earned at Bachelor Degree in Agronomy.

It was at McNeese he met his bride to be Christine Bertrand, exchanging vows on May 28, 1977.

Southwest Louisiana was his home, he enjoyed the simplistic Cajun life; quality food, music, and company, but most importantly, quality time with his faith. He was a devout member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, setting the example for his children that faith is the pillar of the family.

As a father, he was proud of his children, never turning down an opportunity to spend time with them, whether at the deer lease, fishing, or simply sitting around the table or on the porch conversing. He was ever present in their lives, and even more so when he welcomed grandchildren. When they came over, the monopoly board was always out ready to be played and the fire pit was always fresh and ready for a marshmallow roast. He loved watching his granddaughter play piano and playing ball with Luke.

He joked that he lived the bland life, enjoying retirement as a good ol country boy on his tractor, but he was truly rich in family and friends. Often he enjoyed cooking meat on the pit or smoking brisket enticing his family and friends for a visit. At the end of a day you’d find him sitting at his fire pit, feet up and a cigar in hand relaxing.

He was welcomed into Heaven on Sept. 10, 2021 by his beloved wife of 42

years, Christine Bertrand Duos; a daughter, Kayla Michelle Duos; parents, Jules and Lalla Belle Duos; three brothers, Bobby Duos, Michael Duos, and Billy Duos; four sisters, Vanne Manuel, Kathleen Duos, Barbara Veillon, and Patricia Manuel Duos; in-laws, John Chris and Bernice Bertrand.
