Rose Marie Smith was born October 28, 1957 in Lake Charles, La. to the late Joseph H. and Pearlie Mae Williams Smith.  She was a charter member of United Christian Fellowship and a prayer intercessor.  She was a graduate of Marion High School and a retired employee of Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after 38 years of service.  She departed this life Sunday, September 5, 2021 in a local hospital.  She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Cody Demarest; eight sisters, Doris Ann (David ) Stelly of Pearland, Tx., Dianne Smith, Debra Harmon, Brenda (Michael) Brooks, Leona (Gregory) Griffin, and Linda Smith all of Lake Charles, La., Lisa (Reginald) Reynolds of Baton Rouge, La., and Joe Ann Tyler of Opelousas, La.; three brothers, Joseph H. Smith Jr., James Smith, and John Derrick (Letitia) Smith all of Lake Charles, La.; granddaughter, Jasmine Favors; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her son, James L. Favors Jr.; her parents; great grandchild, Genesis; and sister, Shirley Favors.  Her visitation will be Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 8AM with her funeral following at 10AM, at United Christian Fellowship Church, Pastor Ronald Mayo.  Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park.
