Paulette Bernard passed away on Monday, Aug. 31, 2021, in Laurel, Miss. Paulette Picheloup Bernard was born on July 8,1946, in Rayne, La., to the late Marie and Victor Picheloup Sr. She was born into a large, loving family and carried on that tradition as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt.  She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and for Paulette, ‘family’ included immediate family, extended family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 55 years, Charles R. Bernard; beloved children, Jeanne Bernard McClain (John), Chad C Bernard; grandson, Zachary McClain; sister and best friend, Vicky Picheloup Craig (John); and a multitude of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends that were like family.

Paulette was preceded into heaven by her parents, Marie and Victor Picheloup Sr.; twin brother, Paul N. Picheloup; older brother, Victor R. Picheloup Jr.; and niece, Aimee M. Picheloup.

Paulette possessed a loving giving heart and never faltered in the care of her family. Her cooking always brought everyone together. She made room at her table for anyone that dropped by and with her fun-loving attitude it was always a good time. Paulette wore many hats and went by many names. When her mother was unable to say Paulette, due to her stroke, she called her “Au-lette”. Paulette also went by Pete, MiMi and Nanny.

Funeral service will be held Monday, September 6, 2021, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 3100 Audubon Dr., Laurel, MS 39440. Visitation wil be from 9-11 a.m. with Chapel Service following at 11 a.m.
