Louis Elie Lantier

SULPHUR – Louis Elie Lantier Sr., 87, died at 9:48 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, in a Crockett, Texas care center.

He was a native of Scott and had been a resident of Sulphur for over 40 years, moving from Rayne.  Louis worked as a Tug Boat Captain for many years and upon his retirement, he started his own landscaping and lawn service. He enjoyed gardening and working on his tractor.

Survivors include his children, Jimmy Lantier, Louis Lantier Jr. and wife, Zelda, Judy Chester, and Mary Lantier Hebert and husband, David, all of Sulphur, Jude Lantier and wife, Franella of Vinton, and Peggy Richard and husband, Bertrand of Church Point; and his sisters, Hilda Richard of Lake Charles and Bertha Faul of Rayne; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ella P. Lantier; and his siblings, Martin Lantier, Percy Lantier, Edith Lantier, and Hazel Ewing.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept.  6, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Brother Mel Estess will officiate. Burial will be in Leger Cemetery in Indian Bayou.
