Lois Marie Landry Doucet was born July 19, 1942 in Lake Charles, LA to the late Claiborne and Mamie Landry.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother with strong Christian values. She never faltered in the care of her family, and she worked hard on the family farm along side her husband to provide for them. Her cooking always brought the family together, her gumbo was the family favorite, with potato salad as the side. She was a southern woman at heart and loved her seafood. When boiled crabs were on the menu, she had not time to talk, dinner was on her mind. 

Her grandchildren were the light of her life, each one special, and each one she never missed an opportunity to pray the rosary with when they stayed the night, nor did she spare them of the spoils before they went home. She possessed a kind and giving heart, if someone was in need she did what she could to help.

She also enjoyed playing Pokeno, Chicken Dominos, and the trips to the casino. Dancing Honky-tonk was another love of hers, often she and friends would cut a rug whether it was in a garage, senior center or the middle of someone’s kitchen.

She was welcomed into Heaven by; her husband of fifty-one years, John Edward Doucet; her parents, Claiborne and Mamie Landry; and two sisters, Lillian Estay, and Linda Aucoin.

Those left to cherish her memory and beloved gumbo recipe; her children, Clay Doucet, Chris Doucet, and Chad (Sonja) Doucet; grandchildren, Dustin Doucet, Amber (Sawyer) Burkett, Christian “Nicole” (Daniel) Sullivan, Casie Doucet, David John Doucet; great grandchildren, Tucker Doucet, Suede Haze Burkett, Carter Sullivan, and Norah Sade Sullivan; a special friend, Doug Loupe; and her beloved Pokeno and Domino group.

The family will welcome friends at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Thursday, September 2, 2021 beginning at 5pm to 8pm, with a Rosary to be prayed at 6pm. Visitation will resume Friday at 1pm until time of service. A funeral led by Pastor David Lilley will begin at 2pm, with burial to follow at Camp Pearl Creel Cemetery.
