Sadie Izora Miller Bond, 95, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Bond was born February 28, 1926 in Lake Charles, LA, where she was a life-long resident and graduate of Marion High School.  She was a longtime member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and a member of the PPG Family Association.  She enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting and gardening, but her family always came first.  She also enjoyed visiting garage sales and thrift stores and collected cookbooks.

Mrs. Bond is survived by her son, Stephen C. Bond and wife Jennifer of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Chris Menke, Laura Menke, Lane Bond, Emily Bond, Melinda Bond and Jenny Allen; along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, including Holand and Maddalene, which she was especially close to.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. L. “Jack” Bond; parents, Joseph and Jessie Miller; son, Michael Keith Bond, daughter Pamela Menke, who died just hours before her; two brothers; and one sister.

Her Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 30, 2021 at St. Theodore Catholic Church.  Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate.  Burial will follow in Sallier Cemetery in Lake Charles.  Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Sunday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a rosary at 6:30 PM.  Visitation will continue on Monday at the funeral home from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM.
