Judith “Judy” Cummings Denton, 68, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Denton was a born of Wood River, Ill. She was educated and lived her younger life in Staunton, Ill. In 1980 she met and later married her soulmate and they made Lake Charles their new home. She was given the privilege of raising her children from home and once they began grade school, the opportunity to work for College Oaks where she was able to be actively involved in their education. She took great pride in being available for “all things mom” and especially being a “cheer mom” for countless activities, functions and athletics. Once her children were in college, she began working for Greengate Garden Center where she was in her gardening element. Following the arrival of her first grandchild, she gave up Greengate and found the privilege of caring for each grandchild and the blessing of the time she was able to share. She also enjoyed flower gardening, designing and creating landscaping and garage selling. She was of steady faith and loved Jesus. Mrs. Denton will be most remembered for her unique sense of humor, quick wit and quirky laugh; all of which will be greatly missed.
