Police: Suspect in convenience store robberies arrested

Authorities arrested a Roanoke man believed to have been responsible for armed robberies of convenience stores in Jennings and Lake Charles, Jennings police said.

Josh Creuder, 24, was arrested Friday evening, Jennings Deputy Chief Danny Semmes said.

Jennings police and Lake Charles police issued news releases Friday with photos of a suspect. Semmes said they are believed to be the same man. A clerk picked Creuder out of a photo lineup, he said.

A man entered the Valero at 1407 La. 26 around 11 p.m. Thursday, took a drink from the cooler, then approached the counter with a small-caliber semi-automatic handgun, Semmes said. He stole the money from the cash register and a pack of cigarettes and fled on foot. The clerk was not injured in the incident.

In Lake Charles, Touchdown Convenience Store, at 3216 Gerstner Memorial Drive, was robbed at 1:36 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from Lt. Kevin Kirkum, Lake Charles Police Department spokesman. Tobacco Plus, at 2626 Gerstner Memorial Drive, was robbed at 8:45 p.m. Thursday and the Exxon station at 2530 Broad Street was robbed at 2:34 a.m. Friday.The suspect is described as a slender built
