Around 3 a.m. Friday morning, a pickup truck crashed into the Lake Charles Fire Department Company 5 station, Fire Chief Keith Murray said.
None of the fire department personnel in the building at the time were injured. Murray said the truck stopped once it collided with the building’s “fire wall” or the wall that separates the engine room from the station’s living quarters.
“Other than being scared to death, they were okay,” Murray said.
The fire fighters are currently stationed at Fire Station 6 for the time being although another move may be in the future, Murray said.
Murray also said an assessor will come to look at the building.
