Arrest made in downtown shooting

One man was injured and another arrested in connection with an early-Saturday shooting at a downtown Lake Charles nightclub.

A Lake Charles police news release said a 23-year-old man was shot in the leg just before 3:48 a.m. behind the nightclub at 112 W. Broad St. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Less than 30 minutes later, city police arrested Jason LeBlanc, 19, at his 2711 Warren St. residence without incident in connection with the shooting. He is charged with aggravated battery and illegal use of dangerous instrumentalities.

Officers Kyle Young and Kirk Dugas participated in the investigation and arrest.
