A 21-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged with simple burglary and theft over $1,500, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Ross L. Stanley, 624 Murbelle Rd, was arrested in connection with the June 9 burglary of a vehicle at a local casino parking garage.
“The victim said two sets of golf clubs, clothing, money and a gaming console with games were stolen from the back of his SUV while it was parked in a casino parking garage,” Myers said in a news release on Tuesday. “Stanley was identified following a review of video surveillance of the parking garage. Deputies then located Stanley at his home and he confirmed that he entered the victim’s SUV and stole the two sets of golf clubs.”
Myers said the golf clubs were recovered and returned to the victim.
Judge Michael Canaday set his Stanley’s at $15,000.
Detective Darrell Fontenot was the lead investigator on the case.
