Cane River Lake closed to boating traffic

NATCHITOCHES (AP) — Cane River Lake is closed to boating traffic until further notice.
KTBS-TV reports the decision was made due to low water levels in the Natchitoches Parish waterway.
The Cane River Waterway Commission says the only vessels allowed on the lake during lake closings are non-powered boats and boats with electric trolling motors.
The commission's next public meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m on Tuesday, Aug. 21.
