From staff reports

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested three men for two separate crimes — a burglary at a Westlake bar and the attempted robbery of a Sulphur pawn shop, authorities said — and detectives are still looking for a fourth man.

Kim Myers, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said Sedric L. Green, 20, 229 Prater Road, Sulphur and Travis T. Lafleur, 23, 4314 Dutchess St., Westlake, were arrested after an investigation into the Sulphur bar burglary, David D. Johnson, Jr., 21, 521 Prater Road, Sulphur, has not yet been caught, she said.

Myers said the incident happened when the three men pried open the bar’s front door, broke open the ATM machine and stole more than $2,000 cash.

Then, on Aug. 6, deputies learned of an attempted burglary at a Sulphur pawn shop. Video surveillance showed three men, later identified as Green, Johnson Jr., and Bryan K. John, 21, 6 Sherwood Drive, Apt. 33, Sulphur, cutting the business’ power and phone lines to try and get inside, Myers said. Both Green and Johnson were involved in the Sulphur bar robbery.

After an investigation, Green and Lafleur were arrested for the Westlake bar burglary, charged with simple burglary, theft over $1,500 and criminal damage to property and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Myers said. Green is also charged with one count of simple criminal damage of property and simple burglary for the Sulphur pawn shop attempted burglary.

Deputies also arrested John for the attempted burglary of the Sulphur pawn shop. He was charged with attempted simple burglary and simple criminal damage to property and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Judge Wilford Carter set Green’s bond at $6,000, Lafleur’s at $3,000 and John’s at $3,000, Myers said.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Johnson is asked to call the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at 491-3605.

Detectives Glenn Lowery and Mike Connor are the lead investigators on both cases.
