Lake Charles police are looking for two men in connection with an armed robbery that occurred last week on Aster Street. Deputy Chief of Police Mark Kraus said in a Tuesday news release that  at just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the 3200 block of Aster Street, two black men flagged down a woman driver as if they were seeking assistance. One of the men had a gun, Kraus said. “The victim thought they needed some help; she went to help them and they took advantage of her kindness,” said Kraus. He said one of the men wore a white T-shirt, silk basketball shorts and house slippers and the other wore a white tank top, silk basketball shorts and house slippers. Lake Charles police did not confirm the identity of the victim, but they did say that she did not suffer any injuries in the incident. The incident came to light when the American Press was contacted by staff members of W.O. Moss Regional Hospital to confirm the allegation of a circulated email describing the alleged crime. According to Moss Regional staff members, the email, the source of which is unknown, served as a warning to female employees who may travel alone in their vehicles. The email stated the men drove the victim in her car to an abandoned apartment complex, where they took turns choking her while robbing her of cash and credit cards.””
