A woman accused of holding a 14-year-old girl against her will for nearly a week was indicted in state district court Thursday.
A grand jury in 14th Judicial District Court indicted Lacey Cheree Dronet, 30, 4520 W. Quail Hollow Drive, on charges of molestation of a juvenile, second-degree kidnapping and giving drugs to a person under 18.
The grand jury returned four true bills and declined to indict three people.
Dronet bonded out of jail on $20,000 on Oct. 3 after her bond was lowered from $650,000, according to Calcasieu Correctional Center records.
The charges stem from a July 12 incident, according to the indictment.
During the time the 14-year-old girl was held, Dronet beat her and forced her to perform sex acts and take cocaine and methamphetamine, authorities said after Dronet’s arrest in August.
The girl willingly went with Dronet, but Dronet then refused to allow her to go home until July 18, when an acquaintance learned detectives were looking for the girl and took her home, authorities said.
At one point the girl tried to leave, but Dronet grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the floor, authorities said. Dronet also held a knife to the girl’s throat and threatened to kill her, punched the girl in the face and choked her, authorities said.
• The grand jury declined to indict a man accused of vehicular homicide in the 2011 death of a bicyclist.
Darryl K. Fontenot, 48, died as a result of injuries he suffered when he was hit by a truck driven by Ragley man Cody Michael Ardoin, 26, authorities said.
Fontenot was reportedly riding north in the outside lane of U.S. 171 when he was hit from behind.
Ardoin had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.085 — above the legal limit of 0.08, according to the authorities.
Fontenot’s bicycle was not equipped with proper lighting for nighttime riding, authorities said.
l Vinton man Gary Wayne Moody, 47, was indicted on a charge of aggravated incest. Authorities said he masturbated in the presence of a 5-year-old boy.
