A 53-year-old Starks man has been charged with methamphetamine distribution and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, state police said.
Sgt. James Anderson said Lester C. Tubbs was arrested Thursday following a months-long investigation.
"Earlier this year, investigators assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office began a joint investigation into drug distribution in rural southwest Beauregard Parish," Anderson said in a news release. "Agents were able to make controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Tubbs.
"Tubbs was located at his residence along with his wife, 60-year-old Charlotte Jean Tubbs. A search of the property resulted in the discovery of numerous stolen items including a two riding lawnmowers, power tools and flat-bed trailers. In addition, agents seized over 30 rifles and numerous handguns. Ownership of the weapons is under investigation."
Anderson said Lester Tubbs, a convicted felon, was booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail.
