Two Lake Charles residents have been charged with meth possession and production following a raid Monday night, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Jerry T. Anderson, 48, and Angela R. Bertrand, 35, were arrested after deputies raided their home at 2509 Demarest St.

“Deputies were dispatched to the home in reference to a report of a suspicious odor,” Myers said in a news release. “Deputies spoke with Anderson and Bertrand and immediately detected a strong odor of chemicals coming from inside the home.”

Myers said narcotics detectives discovered an active meth lab, methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

Judge Wilford Carter set the bonds for Anderson and Bertrand at $10,000 each.

Sr. Cpl. John Coffman, Cpl. Bradley Guidry and deputies Phil Middleton and Timothy Lemalle were the arresting deputies.
