Louisiana Beer Fest today

In the mood for a Buried Hatchet? How about some Dorothy w? Take a trip on a Flying Horse? Want to search for Missing Elf? May the Dark Force be with you?

If any of these questions have you thirsty for answers, then the 2012 Louisiana Beer Fest is the place for you.

The festival will be held Saturday in the Lake Charles Civic Center Exhibition Hall. The event will run from noon to 6 p.m., with VIP access from 11 a.m.

General admission tickets are $35 and VIP tickets are $60. They are available at MacFarlane’s Celtic Pub, 417 Ann St., and the Gallery of Fine Wine and Spirits, 429 Ryan St., and online at http://louisianabeer fest.ticketleap.com

There will be more than 150 beers to taste, along with Brew University cooking with beer sessions and a games area.

VIP ticket holders can get complementary food and snacks and access to select beers that are only in the VIP lounge

The 2012 Cajun Classic Homebrew Contest will be held in conjunction with Louisiana Beer Fest.

Competitors from all across the nation submit their home brews to a panel of judges to be sampled and checked, with scores based on the style, taste, alcohol content and color.
