Lake Charles man charged with cruelty to a juvenile

A 44-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged with cruelty to a juvenile after allegedly hitting and biting a 15-year-old family member, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said John P. Carter, 108 North Jake St., was arrested Wednesday.
Myers said Carter struck the victim in the face, bit him on his arm and also slammed the victim’s ankle in a vehicle door.
Judge Wilford Carter set John P. Carter’s bond at $3,000.
Detective Michael Primeaux was the lead investigator.
