Lake Charles man charged with burglary, theft

A 37-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged with simple burglary, theft over $1,500 and drug possession, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Stephen A. Hendrix, 3715 Swanee St., was arrested Friday after a theft report from a construction site in Lake Charles.
“During further investigation, deputies discovered Hendrix entered a trailer at the construction site and removed a commercial paint sprayer valued at over $1,800,” Myers said Wednesday in a news release. “When Hendrix was arrested he was in possession of the sprayer and numerous Xanax pills.”
Hendrix’s bond is pending.
Cpl. Melissa Mareno was the arresting deputy, while detective David Burnett was the lead investigator.
