A 29-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged with attempted second-degree murder after allegedly stabbing his roommate, authorities said.

A Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said Dylan P. Mire, 4200 Louisiana Ave., Apt. No. 1., was arrested on Monday.

"Deputies were dispatched to a local hospital at 9 p.m. regarding a stabbing," said Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Ashley Bazinet. "When deputies arrived, they discovered the victim had been stabbed in the back following a physical altercation with Mire. The victim was transferred to a Lafayette hospital for treatment for a punctured lung and his condition is currently unknown."

Mire has also been charged with resisting by flight and two counts of battery of a police officer. Judge Ron Ware set Mire's bond at $36,500.
