Three LaGrange students have been charged with robbery after allegedly stealing money from a fundraiser for the Gators baseball team, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said 17-year-old Darterious Bartie, 1413 Sunset Drive, and two 16-year-olds were arrested after a week-long investigation.

School staff members said as they were selling plate lunches to raise funds for the baseball team when a student ran up and grabbed the cash box and fled on foot.

Detective Beth McGee was the lead investigator.
