An unidentified male was shot and killed Monday at 734 Fall St. in Lake Charles, authorities said.
Lake Charles Police Department released no other information regarding the victim or the suspect.
“At about 7:45 p.m. Lake Charles police received a call in reference to a shooting,” police spokesman Mark Kraus said at 9:30 p.m. Monday night. “Once we arrived, we did in fact find one decedent, a male, that had been shot at least one time. He is in the residence now.”
Detectives are investigating it as a homicide, Kraus said.
“Information is extremely limited now in terms of who and what and why that I know the public wants to hear—that information will come once it’s available,” Kraus said.
The suspect has not been identified.
“At this point we are following up with some leads, but we are very new in the investigation,” Kraus said. “Information is coming in from all types of sources, and we are investigating those leads. Hopefully, we will have some kind of conclusion, but it is just too early to make that commitment yet.”
Kraus said the investigation will continue into the night and early morning.

Title: So Sad!
I was born in Lake Charles, but moved away 20 years ago. I bettered myself and my kids and im so glad i did move. When i do visit i see what drugs have done to the community. This case hits home particulary hard. One of my family members is in custody for being involved. I just pray they all tell the truth.
