Cheers erupted from a packed Cajun Dome Monday night as local favorite Joshua Ledet and the rest of the “American Idol” Top 10 took the stage.
The American Idol Live! Tour 2012 kicked off their Lafayette tour stop with a rousing rendition of “Sing.”
The group had the crowd jumping most off the night, but no performer had the same response as Ledet.
In the second act, Ledet took the stage for three solo numbers and brought the entire crowd to its feet. He performed “Runaway Baby,” “It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World,” and “I Knew You Were Waiting for Me.”
He also appeared in several group numbers including, “Moves like Jagger,” “Just the Way You Are/What Makes You Beautiful,” and “Proud Mary.”
“American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips also had a good response from the crowd. He sang several favorites from the show and his recently released single, “Home.”
The entire Ledet family turned out for the show, including Josh’s 5-year-old niece Chloe.
“This is fun,” she said. “Josh is the best.”
