Jindal adds hurdles for new state vehicles

Last Modified: Monday, October 08, 2012 4:50 PM

BATON ROUGE (AP) — Gov. Bobby Jindal has issued a partial freeze on state agencies buying or leasing cars, trucks and other vehicles.

The executive order was put out last week with no formal announcement.

It requires that any agency in the executive branch get written approval from the governor's commissioner of administration before spending money to buy or lease a vehicle.

The order doesn't apply to the offices of other statewide elected officials.
