JENNINGS — A Jennings man was arrested and a second person is being sought in what police are calling the city’s largest oxycodone bust in years.

Gavin Christopher Williams, 25, was arrested Saturday after police received an anonymous tip that two people were selling drugs at an abandoned house at 118 Renshaw St., according to Deputy Chief Danny Semmes.

“When officers arrived they observed two subjects under the carport,” Semmes said.

Williams was apprehended at the residence. The second person, Jarvis Pierre, fled the residence on foot, Semmes said.

Pierre, who is described as a black man in his mid- to late 20s, is still being sought, he said.

Police recovered 471 oxycodone pills with a street value of over $16,000 and $3,200 in cash during a search of Williams.

“This is one of the largest street-level oxycodone arrests the city has made in the past couple of years,” Semmes said.

Williams was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute and illegal use of currency.

He was out on bond for an oxycodone arrest earlier this year, Semmes said.

Anyone with information on Pierre’s whereabouts is asked to call the Jennings police tip line at 337-275-9002.(MGNonline)
