Jennings man charged in connection with stabbing

JENNINGS — A 73-year-old Jennings man was charged with attempted manslaughter Saturday in connection with the stabbing of a female victim, authorities said.

Floyd Daniels is being held without bond in the Jeff Davis Parish Jail, according to Deputy Chief Danny Semmes.

The victim, whose name is not being released, is in stable condition at a local hospital, he said. She was found by police on a porch at a residence near Orange and Renshaw streets at about 2:30 p.m.

The victim suffered a stab wound to the chest, Semmes said. Police were responding to the call of a stabbing and a large crowd, he said.

Police continue to collect evidence and interview witnesses, Semmes said.””
