A 47-year-old Glenmora woman died Thursday morning in a single-vehicle accident on La. 112 near Elizabeth, state police said.

Sgt. James Anderson said Dorothy Fee died around 7:50 a.m.

“Fee was traveling south on La. 112 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle she was driving crossed the center line and ran off the road,” Anderson said in a news release. “The vehicle then traveled into a ditch on the opposite side of the road and struck a driveway. Fee was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.”

Anderson said that the majority of fatal and serious-injury crashes involve occupants who are not wearing seat belts.

“The nationwide seat-belt enforcement campaign ‘Click it or Ticket’ begins next week,” Anderson said. “Troop D will have additional troopers assigned to area roadways conducting seat-belt enforcement. Buckle up Louisiana. Every trip. Every time.”
